About

The Arts and Science Federation of Associations is the largest faculty association, representing nearly 18,000 undergraduate Arts and Science students. ASFA is composed of an executive of seven members, as well as 27 member associations representing each department in the Arts and Science faculty.

Our goal every year is to provide a vital service to all Arts and Science students, representing and fighting for their rights, as well as enriching their experience at this university in many different ways.

Every year, ASFA hosts various events, ranging from social to academic activities to events promoting sustainability and much more. Another one of our main goals is to remain as financially transparent as possible and follow the policies of Concordia. There is more to university than just attending classes and ASFA is there to ensure that the students of the
Arts and Science faculty experience the social and academic aspects of Concordia.

Want to get involved? Well the good news is you can be involved with ASFA if you are enrolled in a major or minor in arts and science. The best way to be involved with ASFA and meet people in your faculty is joining the member association of your specific faculty. Not only is this a great way to meet new people in your faculty, you will be updated with all the events that go on in your faculty and that go on in ASFA. Whenever there is an event going on, there are posters all over campus advertising the event that is coming up. The best way to be updated with what is going on with ASFA is checking the website that is updated constantly.

Our goal every year is to provide a vital service to all Arts and Science students, representing and fighting for their rights, as well as enriching their experience at this university in many different ways.

The Applied Human Sciences Student Association (AHSCSA) is a dynamic, involved, and inclusive student association. Our goal is to enrich the academic experiences of all AHSC students and foster a sense of community within our department. We do so by organizing program relevant workshops such as career panels, networking events such as the Human Systems Intervention graduate wine & cheese, and hosting social events such as Reggae and Astrology themed parties. In recent years, the student association has developed a strong tie with the Centre for the Arts in Human Development and has raised over $7,500 through benefit concerts. The association has also collected over 200 pairs of jeans for Dans La Rue’s denim drive and raised over $3,000 for Breast Cancer Research. AHSCSA also strives to collaborate with departments across campus; in recent years we have planned events with Religion, Psychology, and Biology students.

(CASE) Concordia Association of Students in English

The Concordia Association for Students in English is a group dedicated to fostering a strong community for students of English Literature and Creative Writing at Concordia University. CASE is responsible for organizing recreational and social gatherings, as well as workshops, poetry readings, lecture series and other activities relevant to the study and pursuit of literature. These activities and events concurrently offer forums for intellectual exchange, opportunities to network with likeminded individuals and, ultimately, forge lasting bonds among the participants, both student and faculty alike. Investing in such relationships will ultimately improve one's university experience, both inside and outside the classroom, and will continue to pay dividends in one's life post-Concordia. CASE is also the deliberative body of representation for students in English in their dealings with the department, the University administration, CSU and ASFA. In addition, CASE helps to fund Soliloquies, Concordia's biannual, student-run journal of poetry, short fiction and drama. Since its inception in 1996, Soliloquies has grown into a vibrant, national publication that proudly represents Concordia within the national literary scene. Our underlying goal is to offers students in English a rich and satisfying experience at Concordia. As such, we value and welcome ideas from our fellow students whose insights help us determine how best to serve the English student body.
