Meet the Team

Berlant AlSabbagh

Berlant is a fourth-year student majoring in biology with a minor in multidisciplinary studies in science. She joined the journal team because of her passion for research, publications, and providing undergraduate students in both arts and sciences a platform to publish their work. This is her second term serving as Editor-in-Chief. Outside of academics, she is involved in various research projects mostly related to pain. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, exploring cafes, strolling through the city, and hiking in national parks.

Simon Brady

Simon is a fourth-year student on the verge of completing a major in Communication Studies. An avid writer and editor, his administrative role within the team gave him the opportunity to reach out to both. Simon is a huge proponent of physical media, priding himself on his catalogue of films and classic rock albums. Following his studies, he would like to branch out into screenwriting.

Christina Kontorousi

Christina is a third-year student majoring in Political Science. Her interest in joining the journal stems from her curiosity about academic research across disciplines and the opportunity to engage with and support the work of students in fields beyond her own. Following her undergraduate studies, she plans to attend law school with the goal of pursuing a career in family law. Outside of academics, she enjoys reading, writing, working out, and spending time with friends.

Argiro Makravi

Argiro Mavraki is in her last year of pursuing her BA in English Literature. As an editor-in-chief of Mothlight Literary Magazine, she has always been interested in the editing process. Outside of school, she can be seen writing, reading, baking, and doing anything that does not involve math.

Isabella Michel

Christina is a third-year student majoring in Political Science. Her interest in joining the journal stems from her curiosity about academic research across disciplines and the opportunity to engage with and support the work of students in fields beyond her own. Following her undergraduate studies, she plans to attend law school with the goal of pursuing a career in family law. Outside of academics, she enjoys reading, writing, working out, and spending time with friends.

Jesse Correll

As of June 2025, Jesse is a Concordia University graduate with a bachelor's degree in journalism. This will be his last Concordia-related project for the foreseeable future as he continues to pursue his career. At the moment, Jesse works full-time as a freelancer across several different contracts related to content creation. In the remainder of his time, he self-publishes investigative journalism pieces on a wide range of topics.

Jocelyn Gardner

Jocelyn is a third-year student in sociology and anthropology. She joined the journal's editorial team because of her passion for writing, and to learn more about student research across a broader range of disciplines. After completing her degree, she hopes to pursue graduate studies in anthropology with a focus on digital culture. When not in school, she enjoys reading and spending time in nature.

Rober Helal

Rober is a fourth year Biology Specialization student, while minoring in Multidisciplinary Studies in Science (Science College). Rober joined the journal team because of his passion for scientific research and to help undergraduate research become published. After graduating, Rober hopes to master in Bio-illustration, Astrobiology, Cancer or immunology related programs. In his free time, Rober enjoys exploring new restaurants and cafes, watching video essays, and cooking.

Emma Liagridonis

Emma is a fourth-year student majoring in Political Science with a minor in Law and Society. She joined the editorial team to explore a range of topics, perspectives, and ideas while supporting student writing! Outside of academia, she is a varsity student-athlete, playing on Concordia's Women's Soccer team for the past four seasons. She plans to attend law school and pursue a career in the legal field.

Katia Balhouane

Katia Balhouane is a second-year student in Honours Cell and Molecular Biology. She joined the Between Arts and Science editorial team not only to help undergraduates share their research and develop their intellectual curiosity, but also to express her passion for scientific communication across diverse topics. Katia hopes to pursue a career in a field that advances scientific research or medicine. Outside of academics, she enjoys getting lost in a good book, cheering on her favourite sports teams and taking long walks to unwind.

Poppy Le Blanc

Poppy is a third-year student majoring in sociology and urban studies. She joined the academic journal team in the interest of collaborating with others to share students’ knowledge across Concordia's diverse community. Once she graduates, she hopes to pursue a career in heritage conservation. In her free time, Poppy enjoys cooking, finding new music, and spending time with friends and family.
