Vitruvian Paradox
By Catherine Illick
This piece attempts to merge the different disciplines of AFSA while sparking conversation about representation and equity. Leonardo da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man appears dissected with the organ systems, critiquing clinical study's systemic privileging of the western scientific tradition. The Black figure placed behind represents the marginalized perspectives. Both figures are under the same constellations suggesting interconnectedness beyond constructed hierarchies.
